“Serenity”, 2022, silver acrylic and silver leaf sheets on canvas, 36’’x48’’.
Serenity is about self-reflection after doing art on serious matters for years. It’s about restarting doing art after a year and reflecting on where I am in my artistic practice. I dabbed a paper towel covered with silver paint onto my canvas to add a fine texture. I repeated this process with multiple shades of silver. I then proceeded to add the silver leaf sheets at certain area to add depth and balance to the painting. The mirror like aspect of the painting may be linked to how it is about self-reflection.

Après avoir passer un an sans faire de l'art, sérénité est une œuvre qui représente une réflexion personnelle après avoir fait de l'art sur des sujets très sérieux pendant des années. J'ai utilisé de l'acrylique appliquer avec du papier essuie-tout et des feuilles d'argent afin d'apporter une certaine profondeur. Ayant l'air d'un miroir, cela peut être un lien avec la réflexion personnelle.
